At their core, the KDC480/485 are versatile barcode scanners, available in multiple models: 1D Laser, 1D CCD, and 2D Imager, ensuring compatibility across various barcode types used in any industry. The KDC480 has a forward-facing scan engine, while the KDC485 features downward angled scan engines for comfortable, level scanning of lower-positioned barcodes. Additionally, KDC485 models are available for three different read ranges: standard range (KDC485H), medium range (KDC485MR), and extended range (KDC485ER), providing businesses flexibility for close-up or distant scanning needs.

The KDC480/485 has a 5’ drop spec, and is IP65-rated. This means the device is dust tight and water resistant— ideal for any environment.
Powered
The KDC480/485 utilizes the display of the connected smart device, providing accurate information in a form and appearance that is familiar to the user. Furthermore, the SmartSled establishes a seamless wireless connection to the host device via Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0, with optional accessories for USB OTG connectivity if desired. A variety of charging cradles, are available for the KDC480/485 and can be scaled to large and small operations.
Rich Companion Ecosystem
With a modular architecture, the KDC480/485 facilitates the attachment of multiple accessories, expanding the functionality of your SmartSled. These companions include short and long-range UHF Readers, an HF (NFC) Reader, a 4,000mAh Extended Battery, a Pistol Grip with an optional 6,000mAh Extended Battery, as well as two mPOS options.
Keyboard wedging and configuration features are included in the complementary SDK for Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, Xamarin, Cordova, React Native, Flutter, and Web.
